Three Universal Truths:
1: Everything in life is impermanent and always changing.
2: Because nothing is permanent, a life based on possessing things and/or persons won't make you happy.
3: There is no eternal, unchanging soul and "self" is just a collection of changing characteristics and atributes.
Four Noble Truths:
1: Human life has a lot of suffering.
2: The cause of suffering is greed.
3: There is an end to suffering.
4: The way to end the suffering is to follow the Middle Path.
Middle Path: The middle path distinguished Buddha's teachings from other religions. "Middle" means neutral, centered, and upright. To investigate and penetrate the core of life and anything with an upright attitude.
The Middle Way meant not living a life of luxury, but not a life of hardship either. There are eight guides to following the Middle path. The Eightfold path is listed in the Method of Reaching Paradise page.
